A ROSE FROM MY OLD DIARY

A ROSE FROM MY OLD DIARY

The Thoughts

May 21, 2011 – My first memories of France and specially Paris… the architecture, music and literature, the courts and monasteries of France …the beauty that shaped western culture! A trip never to be forgotten and further to be deepened by several more…

Oct 15, 2015 –As I walked into the cobblestone & bricked streets of Antibes, Monte Carlo, Monaco, Cannes, Nice...among the vaulted passage beneath the chateaus ... all beautifully lined up on the world-famous French Riviera, experiencing the seaside villages...pristine landscape exuding the beauty of nature, the fragrance of flowers with fresh dew on rose petals, fascinating tall trees, azure water all around me... what caught my attention were the gracefully dressed French women holding pink drinks in their hands and smiling in their floral long flowy dresses, the beautiful crochet laces, the soft fabrics, asymmetrical hemlines, layered skirts… all contemporary & chic. Someday - I thought to myself & smiled.

Looking at these beautifully dressed women, the poet - Robert Herrick's illustration of words crossed my mind... When in silks my Julia goes,
Then, then (methinks) how sweetly flows
That liquefaction of her clothes.

Next, when I cast mine eyes, & see That brave vibration each way free,
O how that glittering taketh me!

The colors

Imagining beautiful colors palette on my canvas as I wander through the streets of Strasbourg (near to Paris), making my imagination run wild with the collection I will put together – pastel hues of light breezy summer, a memory down the lane having sunshine yellow sundae in the streets of Nice, the refreshing dew on the grass blades, the ivory doors, hundred shades of roses all around me.

The collection

‘A rose from my old diary’ will be a concept drawn from era of renaissance and beauty of Impressionism Art. A collective for remembering those impressionist afternoons - picnic with family, freshness of green grass, golden sunshine, blooming flowers with beautiful butterflies around, fragrance of French countryside and glasses of fruity yet crisp wine. It will be our journey to create Indian women look beautiful in their body and skin while integrating the international cuts, colors and silhouettes. A decade of thoughts in my mind …finally presenting our tale of creating a special designer ensemble – just for you.
